Latest milestone in multi-million pound fleet refurbishment programme

Northern has released the first of its train timetables for the Yorkshire and North East areas during planned RMT strike action taking place on Tuesday 3 and Thursday 5 October.

Northern has unveiled a special plaque at Blackpool North station to celebrate its partnership with the Blackpool Centre for Independent Living (BCIL).

Northern swapped the tracks for the runway last week when staff at the rail operator took to the catwalk to launch their new uniform.

Rail services operated by Northern are currently severely impacted between Salford Cresent and Bolton due a fallen tree. This is causing significant delays on the route and impacting other train services around the region.

Northern train services are currently suspended on the Halifax, Bradford Interchange, Leeds route due to a lineside fire just outside Bradford Interchange.  

Trains in and around Ravensthorpe are currently delayed after a person was struck by a train near to the station

Northern’s plans to keep customers on the move are right on track today.

By 10am, more than 300 trains had reached their destinations with more than 90 per cent of those on time.

Northern is reminding customers to check before they travel by train on Friday 1 and Monday 4 September.

Northern customers, during the RMT strike on Friday 1 September and Monday 4 September, will be able to use their tickets on Arriva Bus services.  This move will help keep Northern customers on the move during strike action.

Northern has issued further timetable information for customers travelling in the Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Merseyside, Lancashire and Cumbria areas during RMT strike action on Friday 1 and Monday 4 September.

Train operator Northern has informed people attending Bingley Music Live on Friday 1 September that they must seek alternative travel options for their journey home as due to strike action, last trains will depart in advance of the event’s 9:30pm closing time.
