We wanted to get in touch to give you a further update on our plans for the timetable change due to be implemented next week, as well as providing information on some service issues which will I am sure you will have been aware of.

Northern working towards a dementia friendly railway - launch day Friday 25 May 2018

Northern has announced the full timetable for train services set to run during the RMT strike on Wednesday 9 May.

On behalf of Northern I would like to apologise for the delays and cancellations passengers have been experiencing, especially over the last couple of weeks. I know this has been causing people to be delayed reaching their destinations and for that we’re very sorry. I wanted to take the opportunity, following conversations with the Mayor of Greater Manchester, to explain the issues we’re facing.

A Northern spokesman said: “We’re grateful this has been brought to our attention and are addressing the concerns raised.

Richard Allan, Northern’s Deputy Managing Director, said: “Our modernisation plans are well underway with almost £500m of new trains under construction, 90 refurbished trains in service, £8m spent so far on improving our stations, extra services from May, and much more to come by 2020.
