Launched on 19 August the tickets gave customers the chance to claim great value tickets on all Advance Purchase routes across the Northern network in September.
Northern had made more than 80,000 10p tickets available and, within around five days, all had been claimed.
Mark Powles, Northern’s Commercial and Customer Director, said: “Our offer was designed to give our customers great value travel in September and I’m delighted that so many were able to get their hands on 10p tickets.
“And, with our brand new trains operating on several routes already, with more to come throughout September, not only will customers get good value, many will travel in greater comfort than ever before.”
Northern’s new trains are already serving customers in Leeds, Doncaster, Liverpool, Manchester and Cumbria. In the next week they will be launched in Blackpool, Bradford, Skipton and Ilkley, with further routes to follow through 2019 and into 2020.
