Northern employees on top of the world

Kim and Chynna climb Ben Nevis for charity

Two employees of Northern, the UK’s largest train operator outside London, have recently scaled the heights of the Scottish highlands for charity.

Kim Thompson, station supervisor at Hexham, and Chynna Cochrane, general purpose relief in Northumbria, climbed Britain’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis, in aid of Breast Cancer Care.

Between them, they have so far raised over £1,200 for the charity as part of a larger group of climbers which has raised £25,000.

Kim and Chynna are very grateful for the support they have received, and would be grateful for further donations – to donate, call Breast Cancer Care on 0800 024 8894 and name Kim or Chynna.

Mike Paterson, Regional Director for Northern, commented “Congratulations to Kim and Chynna on their fantastic achievement, in the name of a really worthwhile cause. It’s great to see our people go the extra mile for a charity close to their hearts.”
