'They'll go fast': Save on your commute by grabbing a Northern discount code as part of new trial
People who work in Bradford and Sheffield are being urged to act fast and grab a discount code so they can save money when they travel by train with Northern.
Customers will be offered 10,000 discount codes from Thursday, 23 May that allow them to save £10 when they spend at least £40 on a flexi or monthly season ticket.
They can be used by workers who book tickets to travel on services into Sheffield and Bradford and will be valid for use until Thursday, 18 July.
The offer is not just available to people who are fed up working alone at home and want to get back to the office. It aims to encourage a range of shift workers, including those in the hospitality, healthcare, retail and leisure sectors, to give travelling by train a try.
Kerry Peters, regional director for Northern, said: “These discount codes offer workers a great chance to save money on their commute, but don’t hang around as they'll go fast.
“If you can’t get your hands on one and are travelling to work on a Northern service regularly, you can still save up to 33% by buying a season ticket instead of individual tickets.
“We’re confident that anyone who tries the train won’t want to go back to the stress of sitting in rush-hour traffic and searching for expensive parking spaces.”
She added: “The codes are currently available to those travelling into Bradford and Sheffield, but we’ll be offering a range of other discounts to customers across our network in the coming months.”
Northern is the second largest train operator in the UK, with 2,500 services a day to more than 500 stations across the North of England.
