Primary school pupils chuffed with Northern train mosaic

Pupils from Frizinghall primary school have created a ‘first class’ mosaic based on one of Northern’s class 195 trains.

The mosaic will take pride of place in the school hall when the students return in September. A digital copy will be displayed at Frizinghall station.

The school pupils adopted nearby Frizinghall station in 2021 and regularly take part in keeping it clean and tidy while learning about rail safety.

The partnership was even recognised in Frizinghall Primary's most recent OFSTED inspection.

Tony Baxter, regional director at Northern said: “Both Northern and Frizinghall Primary are proud of the impact their partnership has had, not only on rail safety and education but also on community spirit.

“This mosaic serves as a testament to the power of collaboration and shared goals in making a real difference in people's lives.”

Northern is the second largest train operator in the UK, with 2,500 services a day to more than 500 stations across the North of England.
