Northern and Super League to host children from Leeds Children’s Hospital at Grand Final this Saturday
Nineteen children under the care of Leeds Children’s Hospital will be special guests at the Betfred Super League Grand Final this Saturday September 24.
The children, accompanied by their parents and NHS staff, will travel to Old Trafford to see Leeds Rhinos take on St Helens courtesy of Super League and train operator, Northern.
Northern is sponsoring the community stand at this weekend’s Grand Final, a partnership designed to make the event affordable for families, grassroots supporters and community groups.
As well as watching the match, the children from Leeds Children’s Hospital will receive a special Robbie Burrows shirt, while their parents will be presented with a copy of Robbie’s book Too Many Reasons To Live.
The children and nurses of Leeds Children’s Hospital will be cheering on the Rhinos this weekend, and both Super League and Northern would like to extend our thanks to the club for making this day out extra special.
Tony Baxter, regional director of Northern, said: “We have established a great relationship with Leeds Children’s Hospital and through our partnership with Betfred Super League we were delighted to be able to give the children and their parents an extra special day out.”
Rhodri Jones, chief commercial officer of Super League, said “We are pleased to be able to offer the children, parents, and staff of Leeds Children Hospital a special invitation to the 25th Betfred Super League Grand Final. We also would like to extend our thanks to our partners Northern and Leeds Rhinos for helping to make this special moment happen”.
Northern is the UK’s second largest train operator, with nearly 2,000 services a day to more than 500 stations across the North of England.
