Northern reveals the most popular destinations in latest Flash Sale - and where there are bargains still to be had
Northern's latest Flash Sale is off to a flying start, with hundreds of thousands of cut-price tickets already snapped up by eager passengers across the North.
Launched yesterday (Wednesday 2 September) and running until Friday 4 September, the operator has put four million tickets up for grabs at a price of just £2 for adults, and £1 for children.
Early figures show the ten most popular destinations where the most bargain tickets have been snapped up for so far are:
- Leeds
- Manchester Piccadilly
- York
- Sheffield
- Hull
- Blackpool North
- Carlisle
- Manchester Victoria
- Preston
- Manchester Airport
There are still plenty of bargains to be had, with tickets available for £2 on popular routes such as the iconic Settle & Carlisle line.
The routes where the most remaining sale tickets to be found are:
- Leeds to Bradford/Ilkley/Skipton
- Bradford to Ilkley/Skipton
- Blackpool to Manchester Airport
- Manchester to Hadfield
- Liverpool to Wigan
- Manchester to Buxton
- Leeds to Doncaster
- Leeds to Harrogate and York
- York to Bridlington
- Sheffield to Huddersfield
- Carlisle to Barrow/Lancaster

Tickets bought in the Flash Sale are valid for travel between 9 September and 23 October 2026 and are available to buy on Northern's app, online, and at ticket offices and on ticket machines at stations managed by Northern.
Northern is the second largest train operator in the UK, with 2,650 services a day to more than 500 stations across the North of England.
