Northern offers up to 75%-off group travel bookings made before the end of January

Groups of ten or more can grab huge savings in the train operator’s January sale from 10am today (Monday, 16 January). 

Whether the group fancies a day trip to Chester to see the largest Roman Amphitheatre in Britain and its 1000-year-old Cathedral, or a visit to Manchester for its museums and galleries.  

Mark Powles, customer and commercial director at Northern, said: “After Christmas and New Year we wanted to give our customers a lift – and the huge discounts we're offering group bookers across the whole of our network are a real bargain.” 

To qualify for this offer, groups must be of ten or more passengers, travelling between 23 January and 20 March 2023, and the discounts apply to Northern only off-peak return fares. Bookings must be made by 4pm on Tuesday, 31 January.

Northern’s new timetable went live in December and customers are advised to use the new ‘Check My Timetable’ feature on its website to see the changes specific to their local station.   

Northern is the second largest train operator in the UK, with nearly 2,500 services a day to more than 500 stations across the North of England.
