Northern adds Cheshire services during RMT strike action
Northern is bolstering its services to help customers in Cheshire get where they need to be during RMT strike action.
For the first time during RMT strike action Northern will be offering an hourly service between Chester and Altrincham, giving customers in the county improved choices for travel into Manchester.
There are also enhancements for customers travelling between Liverpool and Warrington Central, with the service now extended through to Manchester Oxford Road
Sharon Keith, Regional Director for Northern, said: “We have developed our strike timetables to give our customers the best possible choice and flexibility and are now able to offer good links between three great northern cities.”
The service between Chester and Altrincham will run hourly between 7.30am and 6.30pm while services between Manchester Oxford Road and Liverpool will also run hourly, starting shortly before 9am from Manchester and from 10.30am from Liverpool.
Sharon added: “We will operate more rail services than ever before for a Saturday RMT strike and are doing everything we can to keep the north of England on the move.”
“Anyone who is planning to travel using Northern services on Saturday should plan ahead carefully and allow extra time for any journeys. Our services will be busy and, in some cases, may not follow the usual stopping patterns.”
Full details of the revised timetables – together with any rail replacement bus schedules – and supporting information for customers can be found on the Northern website.
