Jonathan tackles razor-sharp challenge for cancer charity

Northern Station Supervisor Jonathan Mountain suffered a close shave for a good cause last week.

Jonathan, who has sported facial hair for 20 years, said goodbye to his beard last Saturday to raise money for local charity, Cancer Support Yorkshire.

Dubbed ‘The Big Shave’, Jonathan’s charity event was supported his colleagues at Northern’s Bradford Interchange Station who also organised a cake sale before Jonathan faced the razor.

Jonathan said: “Having had my beard for 20 years, this feels really strange but totally worth it. It was great to see so many people come out to witness The Big Shave as it’s for such a great cause.

“The Northern team here have been so supportive and it’s great to see that we’ve almost hit our fundraising target of £1,000 so a huge thank you to everyone who donated.”

There is still time to pledge your support and acknowledge Jonathan’s hair-raising efforts. To donate go to: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Jonathan-Mountain
