Disruption ongoing between Leeds and Harrogate

Train services between Leeds and Harrogate continue to face disruption following a weather-related incident earlier today (Thursday).

There will be no further service on the route this evening and services will be reduced to one per hour in each direction tomorrow morning (Friday).

Colleagues from Network Rail remain at the scene and are working hard to fully open the line as quickly as possible.

Northern customers are advised to allow extra time for journeys between Leeds and Harrogate to and to check carefully before travelling.

A Northern spokesperson said: "It's been an extremely difficult day, particularly for our customers in Yorkshire. Sadly, as a result of today's issues, we are facing more disruption on Friday, though customers can be assured that the rail industry is doing all it can to restore full services as soon as possible.

“Again, we'd like to thank our customers for their patience and ask that anyone who is planning to travel on this route on Friday allows extra time for journeys and checks ahead before setting off as delays and cancellations are possible.”

For up-to-date travel information check the Northern website or National Rail Enquiries.
