Colourful artwork at Blackpool North celebrates seaside fun
Vibrant artwork has been installed at Northern’s Blackpool North station celebrating the resort’s sun, sea and sand.
The colourful images can be seen on the glass panels of the gateline, welcoming passengers to the station.
Each piece depicts famous landmarks, including the iconic Blackpool Tower, Pleasure Beach, and pier.
The images were created by artist Dez, also known as LoveArtPix, who is setting up a community interest company (CIC) to encourage young people who struggle with their mental health to create art.
He said: “It was very exciting to be asked to create artwork for the gateline at Blackpool North where everyone passing through the station will be able to see them.
“I used to visit as a child with my family and was inspired by the nostalgia and fun of summer holidays which I hope comes across to everyone visiting the station.”
Chris Jackson, Regional Director for Northern said: “I’d like to say a huge thank you to Dez who has brought such colourful imagery to our station.
“As well as complementing our broader station improvement strategy, this vibrant work is also something the wider community can enjoy.”
